It was revealed recently that Crysis 3, Dante’s Inferno, Dead Space 2, and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will all be shutting up shop at some point this year. There are some top-tier classic titles being taken offline, and while they’ll still be accessible on the single-player front, the multiplayer services for these games will fade into the darkness of history. While Hardcore may be too much for myself, I think Pure Survival sounds about my speed.As part of its ongoing ‘Online Services Shutdown’ operation, Electronic Arts has revealed that more titles will be shuttered this year – multiplayer-wise, we mean. It’s not very comforting knowing that these things could have easily been made on the side to be purchased as DLC–such is the industry–but they sounds promising. It’s neat having these extra modes packed in. New Game +, the traditional replay option with retained stats and weapons Classic Mode, similar to Dead Space 1 in which there’s no crafting, it’s strictly single-player, and uses classic style aiming Pure Survival, for the survival horror veterans who don’t mind playing the game with extremely limited resources, no ammo or health drops, just resources to make what you need and lastly, there’s the return of Hardcore modes, players are limited to just one life for Isaac–no respawns. Within a developer blog, Steve revealed four unlockable gameplay modes for Dead Space 3, each available after completion of the campaign. Executive producer of Dead Space 3, Steve Papoutsis, has recently announced some new additions that we can expect from the upcoming title.
